The Tasting
Join us on the patio at Vic’s overlooking the picturesque Minneapolis riverfront for our last summer blast. We'll savor the flavors of wonderful wine and food samples from the talented kitchen team. Chef Doug Pittman, formerly of Morton’s Steakhouse, has created a special appetizer sampler to compliment the tasting.
Our wine-loving hosts at Vic's have helped us put together a terrific tasting list. We don't usually select all our tasting wines from the venue, but this event is an exception. The wine list has 100 bottles and a wonderful variety.
Insider's Tip: Vic's created a “Stellar Wine at Cellar Prices Program” to help share the love. Their bottled wines are always sold "at cost" so you pay what Vic's pays. No mark up. Nada. Zilch. Niente.
Partial Wine List and Tasting Notes
•Verget Macon Villages, White Burgundy 2009 - From one of the star producers of white Burgundy. Fresh and clean flavors, tart juicy apple, a touch of citrus and a hint of oak in a simple, medium-bodied wine.
•Domaine Serene Chardonnay, Dundee Hills Oregon 2008 (92) - From an amazing Oregon winery owned by Minnesotans Ken and Grace Evenstad. This Chardonnay is supple and graceful, with pear, lime, cream and clove flavors that expand beautifully on the long, vivid finish.
•Saracina Sauvignon Blanc 2008, Mendocino County California (83) - Citrus and apple flavors with bright juiciness, with a hint of herb and citrus peel on the finish.
•Santa Margherita Prosecco, Italy (84) - You may know Santa Margherita for their Pinot Grigio, now try this Prosecco! Green pear, lemon zest and spring blossom notes. The finish features a light, toasty hint.
•Chateau Loudenne White Bordeaux 2007, France - Honey and apple tart aromas, with hints of vanilla bean. Full body with lots of caramel and ripe fruit flavors.
•Bodega Colome Malbec Estate 2009, Argentina - Ripe and bouncy, with a mix of currant, fig, raisin and cherry laced with hints of mesquite.
•Baileyana Pinot Noir, 2007, California (87) - Black cherry and dark raspberry with a surprising dash of nutmeg and hazelnut. It rounds out clean with a lengthy finish.
•Louis Martini Napa Valley Cabernet 2006, California (87) - Full-bodied with dried currant, sage, dusty oak and spicy earth notes. Impressive for its focus, structure and balance.
•And more! This is a partial list, we'll have more at the tasting!
